Public Notice of Resolution
Notice pursuant to section 352 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
Following the full completion in March 2025 of the sale of its hospitality assets, which means it can no longer function as a Licensing Trust, on Friday 11 July 2025, the members of the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust (the Licensing Trust) passed a resolution to convert to a community trust under section 351 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012:
“MWLT resolves that according to s351 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, MWLT immediately initiate the process to convert to a Community Trust.”
Right to request meeting and request a poll on the resolution
Electors of the Licensing Trust can:
Request a meeting to be called to discuss the resolution for conversion under section 353 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Your meeting request must be by written notice; and
Request the Licensing Trust to hold a poll on the resolution for conversion under section 355 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. Your request to hold a poll must be by notice in writing and must be received by the Licensing Trust within 40 working days after the date of this public notice.
Who can request a meeting and request a poll on the resolution?
Under section 353 and section 355 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act you must be an elector of the Licensing Trust to be eligible to request a meeting and request a poll on the resolution.
Every elector who signs a request must also set out in it their full name and the address that qualifies them as an elector of the Mount Wellington Licensing Trust.
What can you request?
To request a meeting, your written notice must request the Licensing Trust to hold a public meeting to discuss the resolution for conversion pursuant to section 353 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
To request a poll, your notice in writing must request the Licensing Trust to hold a poll on the resolution for conversion pursuant to section 355 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Where to send your request
Your request to hold a poll on the resolution must be received by the Licensing Trust within 40 working days after the date of this public notice.

Late requests: Any requests received after the publicly notified closing date for a request are not valid to be counted in the required number of requests for a poll to be held.
